J Berry Nursery was founded in 2006 by Jim and Jonathan Berry in Grand Saline, TX, 90 miles east of Dallas.  Our primary business objective is to Discover and Deliver Great Plants.  The discovery phase involves constant searching around the world for the best plants to offer our customers.  Our contacts include universities, other nurseries, government research centers, independent breeders, and breeder representative firms.  Our R&D department screens the new plant candidates to ensure that each plant will perform as expected in the landscape, at the garden center, and in production at the nursery.   

Discovering great plants would be worthless if we did not deliver these plants in the condition that allows for the full potential of the plants to be realized by our customers and our customers’ customers.  This means that our customers must receive a plant that is retail ready and has as much shelf life as possible so that they have every opportunity to sell the plant to their customers.  Additionally, the end consumer must receive a plant that is going to perform as expected in their landscape.  Everything that we do in production and distribution is geared towards the delivery of great plants to our customers. 

J Berry Nursery’s current product line focuses on innovative flowering shrubs primarily in the rose, hibiscus, and hydrangea categories.  In the future, you will see us introduce New Oakleaf Hydrangeas, South African Canna's, Clematis, and other exciting plants.
